NTU is a founding member of the World Union of technological universities. Its main campus and garden (Yunnan Garden campus) covers 200 hectares in the south-west of the island. It is the largest campus in Singapore with 16 buildings of dormitories for students and lounge for doctoral students.
NTU was the Olympic village for the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010.
