Jurmala – a city-resort in Latvia, situated on the coastline between the Gulf of Riga and the river Lielupe. Population – 55 thousand people.
The city is one of the two Latvian Presidential Residence, the largest water park in the Baltics, giving Museum Rainis and his wife – poet Aspasia. The coastline – 32 kilometers. Jurmala – a chain of small towns stretched out along the coast, which grew out of the fishing villages. The spa area includes: Bulduri, Dzintari, Majori, Pumpuri, Melluzi, Kemer, Dubulti.
The main attraction of the Riga beach – beautiful sandy beaches. Since the late 1990s. significantly improved tourist infrastructure of the resort.
Jurmala is famous for its mud and water baths. For active recreation – biking trails, paths for jogging, everything you need for a variety of water sports (water skiing, pedalo, scuba diving). Among the attractions of Jurmala are unique natural monuments, samples of wooden architecture, Kemeri National Park, various memorials.
