Jurmala – the largest resort city in Latvia and the Baltic countries, is 25 km from Riga. It is a long strip (32 km long and 3 km wide) between the Gulf of Riga and the river Lielupe.
Joma – the central street of Jurmala. One of the oldest streets in the city, founded in the late XIX century. It is purely pedestrian street. In the square stands a monument to the Jomas Janis Rainis and Aspasia.
Every year is a holiday Jomas street – concerts, attractions, competitions, competition of sand sculptures at one end of the street, and of course, fireworks. At Jomas 35 is a historic building – the People’s House Jurmala, before this – cinema Jurmala.
