Alanya – district and city in the mud (region) Antalya Turkey, a well-known recreation center with a developed infrastructure of services and entertainment. Located on the Mediterranean coast, 120 km from Antalya.
Founded by Greek colonists in the II century BC. e., in the Roman era, the city served as a haven for smugglers and pirates.
Ancient Alanya, also known under the names Korakesion and Kalonoros (in Greek – “beautiful mountain”), previously served as a refuge for pirates.
They brought in awe all commercial shipping in the Mediterranean and led a lively trade in slaves, which were the main organizers, however, the large Roman landowners.
