Tarnów is a city in South-Eastern Poland, in the małopolska province, on the banks of the Dunajec river. It is an important tourist and cultural center of lesser Poland, as well as a large railway junction. It is also the industrial and economic center with several branch factories. In 2012, tarnów was recognized as the most innovative city in Poland.
Tarnów has a rich history. Already in the ninth century at mount St. Martin is about 2.5 km from the modern centre, was founded by a Slavic city with an area of about 16 hectares. In 1124 in documents was first mentioned a Small village of tarnów. The city of tarnów was founded in 1309, and the city privileges received in March 1330
