Queenstown — the main tourist center of New Zealand. Here you will find something to amuse fans of extreme sports, eco-tourists and ordinary “tour” (if the term “simple” is generally applicable to New Zealand). The town itself is quite pleasant, pleasing a large number of bars and restaurants, a pretty harbour and interesting shops.
Between the new Zealand cities by bus, however, prices are a little expensive: from Wellington to Auckland a ticket will cost around 80-100 NZD. Between the North and South Islands regularly ferries, with a journey time of 2 to 3 hours, the cost of travel from 45 to 70 NZD. Tickets are best booked in advance. To take a car rental, will have to fork out 60 NZD per day (insurance included).
The city bus ride is 1.5 to 2.5 NZD. Taxi is widely used and is 4-5 NZD per kilometer.
