Paid – a city in the central part of Estonia, the administrative center of Järva County. The city is known castle, built by the Livonian Order. During the Cold War it was in Paid airbase Koigi.
The highest point of the county – Valgehobusemägi Mountain (107 m), there is a landscape reserve Kõrvemaa (204 km²), Türi drumlins field (104 km²).
The county formed its borders to the beginning of the XIII century.
