Mersrags is a town in Latvia, on the Western coast of the Gulf of Riga, the centre of Mersrags region. The village crosses the road P131 Tukums — Kolka. The port of Mersrags specializiruetsya on the export of timber.
The name the village gave, located in the Northern part of Mersrags Cape jutting out into the sea farther than any other Cape of the Gulf of Riga.
Close to Mērsrags is one of the largest lakes of Latvia — Engure. Mērsrags is located on the territory of the natural Park of lake Engure, famous places for bird watching on trostnikov overgrown coastal meadows, Mersrags Cape and Cape Pacris and closed (2014) – site lagoons South of the port. Through the village passes the Mersrags canal from the lakes to the Gulf of Riga.
