The city of a thousand shades, standing on the shore of the sea, Dublin is the Irish capital. To paraphrase a popular phrase about London, you can say: “Dublin is the capital of Ireland”
Dublin is the largest city of Ireland, the Central business, cultural and administrative, the largest port in the country overlooking the Irish sea.
The name was formed from the Irish words dubh (black) and linn (the word means “pool” or “pond”). Traditional Gaelic letter meant writing “bh” as “b” point (Du ḃ Linn or Duḃlinn).
