Drama city in Greece, capital of the Prefecture of drama, located in Eastern Macedonia. A city with a long history and many architectural monuments. According to the census 2001, the population of the drama consists of 42 501 people.In the recent past the economy of the Drama rested on the textile industry.
However, these industries were closed. Other sources of income are from agriculture (mainly tobacco plantations), a small mining industry (for production of marble) and forestry. Recently, efforts have been made to exploit the rich local natural environment and develop ecotourism. On the slopes of Falakro mountain is a modern ski resort. Drama also welcomes guests during the annual festival of short films.
