Aomori – central city and port in Japan, located in the north of the island of Honshu Aomori bay. Aomori Prefectural Civic Centre.
Aomori is situated in the central part of the prefecture. He serves as a corridor between two large islands of Honshu and Hokkaido, the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The basis of the city’s economy is agriculture, the cultivation of apples, black currant, breeding and catching shellfish (scallops seaside, Patinopecten yessoensis), as well as the production of beef. Annually held in Aomori Nebuta great night parades with huge lanterns. The city is the country’s largest village-parking Neolithic.
The first people settled in the territory of Aomori in the Jomon period (12,000 BC -.. 300 BC..). Evidence of this is the Sannai-Maruyama site, the largest settlement dzёmontsev in Japan. The descendants of these people were part of the ethnically-Emishi social community, which in the 12th century was conquered and assimilated by the inhabitants of the Yamato state, the ancestors of most of the modern Japanese.
