A small town with a population of just 6,500 people nestled on the picturesque banks of the Jizera River, in the Liberec edge. It is located about 100 km north-east of the Czech capital, and would have been forgotten, but, starting from the XI century to the present day, Zelezny Brod is a center for the production of blown glass and gorgeous jewelry.
Every June, the city hosts the fair and entertaining festival “Glass City» (Skleněné městečko) organized in September.
In the town of Zelezny Brod many old wooden houses belonging to wealthy villagers. Sightseeing is best to start with the Little Square (Malé náměstí), around which is the oldest preserved part of Zelezny Brod.
