Vukovar – a town in Croatia, in the eastern part of the country, on the river Danube. The second largest city (after the city of Vinkovci) in Vukovar-Srijem County.
Vukovar – the largest Croatian town and port on the Danube. It is located at an altitude of 108 meters in 20 kilometers east of the town of Vinkovci and 36 km south-east of Osijek. Through the city passes highway car Osijek – Vukovar – Ilok and railway line Vukovar – Vinkovci.
The main attractions of the city – the Franciscan Monastery (1688), Bishop’s Palace (1777), many churches have been completely destroyed by the bombing of the JNA. Their recovery continues.
