Levy is one of the largest ski resorts in Finland. The resort name comes from the name of mount Levitunturi, near which it is located. Experts believe that the word “levy” of Sami origin, but to date the etymology of the toponym is unknown. Ski resort Levi is located in Sirkka around the mountain Levi in the municipality of kittilä in Western Finnish Lapland about 160 km North of the Arctic circle.
