Rimouski is a city in the canadian province of Quebec in the administrative region bas-Saint-Laurent. Located approximately 325 km northeast of Quebec city. The city has about 46 430 inhabitants, is located on the South shore of the St. Lawrence river and offers many tourist attractions. The name of the municipality comes from the language of the Indian tribe the mi’kmaq as the “land of moose” or “earth dog”. With a new theater hall and expansion of the industrial area, the opening of Department stores Rimouski has confirmed the title of city.
