Cres – an island in the Adriatic Sea, in the northern part of Croatia, near the Dalmatian coast in the Gulf of Kvarner. The island is the eponymous city. Cres – one of the two largest Croatian island of Krk, along with the island.
Cres Island is located in the Gulf of Kvarner, near the Istrian peninsula and the islands of Krk, Rab and Pag. With regular ferries to the peninsula of Istria (Brestova – Porozina), with the island of Krk (Valbiska-Maragheh) and a drawbridge to the island of Losinj, which once was an island of Cres, but which it was separated from the artificial channel width of 11 meters. The town of Cres is situated in the central part of the island, on the west coast.
