Borovets ski resort – the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria. Its history dates back to 1896. The neighborhood was founded as a place of recreation and hunting for the Bulgarian kings. Now he has developed into a modern ski resort with excellent leisure facilities and wonderful areas for ski runs. Borovets is situated among pine forest, so the air here is extremely fresh and clean.
The resort is located at an altitude of 1390 m above sea level on the Northern slopes of the Rila mountain, at the foot of peak Musala (2925м) – the highest on the Balkan Peninsula. In the area of Borovets, located 190 lakes and 79 mountain peaks over 2500 m. Winter is mild and snowy. The average temperature in the coldest month January is 4.8 C. the slopes of the mountains covered with snow from December to April.
